ABCs of Newborn Baby Care

More about Linda M. Hanna...

Linda M Hanna grew up in Queens, New York, and earned her BS in Nursing from SUNY Stonybrook. She has been a registered nurse since 1978. After moving to California, she worked at Cedars-Sinai, Hollywood Presbyterian and Kaiser Permanente.

In 1996, Linda pioneered the Great Starts program at Kaiser Woodland Hills. This offered parents-to-be a wealth of information about preparing for childbirth as well as breastfeeding and baby care. The program was so successful, it was adopted by numerous other Kaiser Permanente locations throughout the US.

In 1999, Linda created a similar program for Cedars-Sinai Los Angeles. Here she developed the Lactation Education program which provided new mothers with breastfeeding support. She also founded the Lactation Education store on the 3rd floor to make it easy for new parents to acquire all of the supplies they need for successful breastfeeding.

Linda is a board certified Lactation Consultant and is a member of the IBCLC. More recently Linda was one of the researchers involved in a study of the Bili-Bed - a new method for alleviating jaundice in the newborn.

Linda now embarks on her new venture MommyZone - a store in Tarzana, California, where new moms can find everything they need for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and baby care.

Linda lives in Tarzana near her sister and parents. She has two children of her own and two step-children. The joy of her life is her miniature Schnauzer, Smokey.
